A much needed break…

My dear moocraftees,

Starting tomorrow (25th June ‘10) and for the following two weeks, moocraft will be going on a break~

Don’t worry, it is not gone for ever, it is just going to take some time off, to gain new perspectives… =)

Why break, and why now? Well, here comes a short trip down the memory lane…Follow me, will ya? Moocraft started when I made some handcraft pouches to some of my dear friends, when I’ve ran out of idea of what to buy for them…So, one thing leads to another, someone suggested the crazy idea to me, of selling some of my work. And before I know it (well, okay, I DO KNOW it is coming), moocraft is born~ my little baby is here…

A the beginning, it was about me selling what I’ve produced, and soon, more custom orders came in, which is a great thing, don’t get me wrong, (You guys are my muse, my inspiration!) but at the same time, so many great ideas pop up into my mind as well. However, with the existing custom order at hands, I don’t get much time to make them, and sometimes, it frustrates me with the fact that I could have shown you guys more than just these, I should be showing you guys those ideas that is constantly streaming in my head… Such as a simple canvas bag with a hint of quirkiness, a fun yet practical combination of handphone pouch & wallet, and so much more… I wish to show you guys so many new ideas and new stuff…So I’ve made this sound decision.

From 25th June to 9th July, moocraft will be going on a ‘vacation’, to get fresh ideas, and buy myself some time to make these ideas come true~ I promise, when I am back, I’ll give you the sweetest surprise! ^^

Leaving town for a couple days, and sew-less days await~

ps : don’t worry, orders taken and confirmed as seen on the “Join the Club” list will still be processed, it’s just that moocraft wouldn’t take new orders during this two weeks…Please don’t give up on moocraft just yet~ ^^

I’ll see you guys in two weeks time, it’ll be here before you know it! I’ll miss ya~

A sneaky peek~

Here’s a sneak peak at a custom book cover that I’ve just finished just now ! Haha, this piece is really tricky, since I don’t have much experience with book cover before…But, I am glad it turned out right, but I am exhausted…So, I’ll leak some short preview for you guys first, more beautiful pictures and details on this book cover tomorrow~ Stay tuned, promise?

Moocraft’s very own packaging~

After several days of brainstorming and trial&error, I’ve finally come up with a packaging design that I like~ It is nothing extravagant, or of fancy material, but it is very sleek and simple… And I’ve try to cut down on unnecessary use of materials, after all, we need to do our part in reducing waste and protect our mother Earth~

 

The brown paper bag can be easily recycled if you decided to discard it ~

Every moocraftee ( my term for calling the lovely moocraft’s readers & customers, haha ) from now on will receive their items wrapped in one of these~

“Signed, sealed, delivered, I’m yours!”

Moocraft is a firm believer in making things better for the Earth, that is why the materials used is as eco-friendly as possible, it might not be much, but it’s good enough to make a difference~ ^^ cheers~

Pencil case with a tinge of Oriental flavor~

As promised, here’s the pencil case that oozes with a strong Oriental characteristic!

I fell in love with the fabric the moment I saw it, yes, it was love at first sight…I hadn’t have any idea what I was suppose to do with it when I bought it, but I know this beautiful fabric is hard to come by, so, I grabbed it home right away…

After much thoughts, I came up with this pencil case, since there isn’t much pencil case of such style in the market, if there IS any. Vintage is a good style, but I hope this makes you going gaga on Oriental’s vintage as well.

So, enjoy~ ^^

That’s the spirit !

Hmm, let me see, since the beginning of the holidays, I’ve been trying to tell myself, “Never let this holiday go in vain~” and so, I have spent most of my time, developing my little business, called Moocraft…It was a lot of manage, trust me, it’s more than what I’ve expected…

So far, I am proud to say, my holidays hasn’t gone in vain…I made crafts to fill up moocraft’s blog, taking orders, putting moocraft on several forums, running them, back to making more crafts, and taking orders and blah blah blah…*you know the drill* ^^

Things hasn’t been very easy, and I have to constantly have my dignity, my sane mind in check, just to make sure I haven’t lost them to criticism and frustration along the way. Let’s just say, I don’t take criticism very well, and so is frustration. But hey, I am adjusting…

I know, things don’t get to the top overnight, like old saying, “Rome wasn’t built in one night”… so, I guess all I can do now, is keeping doing what I’m doing, and hope for the best…

However, through the glooms, I’ve found light. Moocraft is getting better now, more people are noticing and having some doses of positive feedbacks are what I am feeding on now…I clinched at the thought of closing down moocraft, and I know, in that far corner of my mind, it is still lingering, waiting to pounce when things would go wrong in the future…But for now, I am happy just the little progress it is taking now… baby steps ^^

So, I’d like to take some time here to extend my gratitude to everyone here that have enjoyed moocraft…Just to let you know, even a small feedback in c-box means a lot to me…And some sweet people like Sophia, was a great encouragement, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING~ ^^

And I’ve made a collage of all the fabrics that I have into a picture, so you guys wouldn’t have to look around the whole blog to find them. It is not many, but they are handpicked with love~ haha, hope you’ll enjoy them…

Say hello to our new banner & profile pictures…

I must say, getting started with moocraft hasn’t been more challenging. There are so many things to take care of, certainly more than what I’ve bargain for when I first wanted to share my crafts with everyone else.

First, there are accounts to set up, with the bank, the Paypal, the Etsy, etc…When I finally got them done, here comes the need to improve the Etsy’s shop layout, the commitment to constantly update the blog and product…It’s just constant maintenance of everything moocraft.

Well, in my progress of improving everything, I’ve take the courtesy to go through many pain-staking screening of helpful forums, tutorials and youtubes, in order to come up with a new banner for moocraft in its Etsy shop, as well as two profile pictures that I hope best represents moocraft.
